Description
The Akkeshi distillery is young: it was founded in 2016 on the coast of Hokkaido, in the far north of Japan. But it has two big advantages: immediate access to local peat bogs and direct exposure to sea spray. The result is a blend of rare sweetness and complexity. Flavors of chocolate and smoky wood unfold amidst citrus and the length of honey. We have no other word for it, but we’re proud of it: it’s really, really well thought out.
