Lychee Ramune

Description

Much more than just a soft drink, Ramune is an institution in Japan. Yet it is simply a fizzy drink, a kind of lemonade (its name derives from the English word “lemonade”). Except that the appeal here lies less in the liquid than in its bottle: a tapered bottle with a glass marble stuck in the neck, for a most surprising experience.
The game consists of sipping the lemonade while imagining that you could swallow the ball… even though it’s impossible. Children love it, and adults also enjoy this playful thrill.
Inspired by Western lemonade, Ramune swept across Japan when the country reopened to foreigners during the Meiji era (late 19th century). Since then, it has been consumed during matsuri (traditional folk festivals) and is even celebrated on 4 May.
Here, Ramune comes in a lychee flavour, which is as exotic as you could wish for.

Use:

After school, as a gift for someone new to it (or someone feeling nostalgic), for fun, to scare yourself or simply to quench your thirst: there’s always a reason to drink Ramune.

Storage:

Store in a cool, dry, dark place. Consume quickly after opening.

Water, high fructose corn syrup, acidifiers (E330, E331), flavour enhancer E327, lychee flavouring.
