Description
In the “umeshu” (Japanese plum liquor) family, this Shiratama stands out for its strong character and a certain elegance that will not be denied by liquor lovers.
Made by macerating plums in shochu and adding sugar and a drop of whisky, this sweet drink develops gourmet aromas of yellow fruits, honey, almonds… with a hint of butterscotch to spoil the moment. You’ll be won over by its exquisite roundness, which in no way diminishes its intensity (14°).
Shiratama Umeshu is a product of the Eigashima Distillery (formerly White Oak), founded in 1984 in Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture (Kansai region, Honshū Island). Located near the Seto Sea, this distillery benefits from a climate that we would describe as continental, which favors the maturation of whiskies. Originally specializing in the production of sake, Eigashima has diversified into the production of other traditional drinks such as shochu, umeshu and wine.
Uses:
Umeshu can be drunk alone or in good company, as an aperitif or at the end of a meal, dry or in a cocktail, neat and chilled or with hot water – in short, the possibilities are numerous, not to say infinite. Just make sure you appreciate it at its true value, and this one is not lacking in that.
Storage:
Glass bottle, store at room temperature away from light.
Ingredients:
Ume (plum, which is actually an apricot)
