Sansho

Sansho is a berry, or more accurately a ‘false pepper’ of Japanese origin. It has a scent of fresh citrus and lemongrass, but above all a minty freshness on the tongue reminiscent of Sichuan pepper. Japanese chefs often use it to ‘liven up’ their dishes.
