An essential citrus fruit in Japanese cuisine, yuzu is inevitably found in a wide range of drinks (alcoholic and otherwise) in Japan.

Yuzu produces very little juice for its size (compared to its cousin, the yellow lemon from the Citrus limon plant), but you don’t have to use much to get the full flavour of this little lemon. Although there are yuzu juices made from 100% of the fruit, we strongly advise against drinking it on its own because it is so acidic. It’s best to dilute it with fizzy water, lemonade or water…

That’s why you’ll find it in small quantities in non-alcoholic drinks, in the form of lemonade, ramune, syrup or vinegar drink. Ideal to quench your thirst.
